Lady Gaga Fortnite Festival Includes Chromatica-Inspired Skins And A Damn Keytar

Little Monsters, rise up—Lady Gaga is coming to Fortnite. On February 20, the pop superstar-turned-actor shared a smoky, mysterious picture to X (formerly Twitter) that appears to show her Fortnite character model. The image is accompanied by one word that’s also a nod to a five-year-old meme: “*fortnite.” The post quotes an original 2019 tweet in which Gaga asked “what’s Fortnight”.

Rumors of Gaga joining Fortnite have been swirling for years, and now it’s clear she’s the headliner for the next season of Fortnite Festival, set to debut on February 22. Fortnite Festival is the platform’s rhythm game, introduced late last year alongside racing game Rocket Racing and kid-friendly survival game Lego Fortnite. Festival’s debut headliner was The Weeknd—his songs were featured and his character model and other Weeknd-themed cosmetics were available in the Fortnite shop.

Lady Gaga Fortnite Festival Season 2 details

Lady Gaga’s headlining role won’t be like Ariana Grande’s Rift Tour, but “Rain On Me,” the song the two perform together, will be included in the Festival as a playable Jam Track you can rock out to on a stage inspire by Chromatica (her 2020 album). Here are all the songs included:

Lady Gaga – “Applause”Lady Gaga – “Bloody Mary”Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”Lady Gaga – “The Edge of Glory”Lady Gaga ft. Colby O’Donis – “Just Dance”Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande – “Rain On Me”Lady Gaga – “Stupid Love”Lady Gaga – “Poker Face”

Lady Gaga’s inclusion in Fortnite Festival Season 2 comes with a themed battle pass called Unlock Your Talent. It offers free and premium reward tracks, with the premium battle pass costing 1,800 V-Bucks (1,000 V-Bucks costs $9). Complete quests to progress along the pass, with the free track rewarding you with emotes, Jam Tracks, and a wooden drum set (I wonder how that would sound). The premium track is where all the Lady Gaga stuff lies, including some Jam Tracks (Gaga ones and, strangely, songs from Nelly, Soundgarden, and Topic), a Chromatica guitar and keytar, and the “Enigmatic Gaga Outfit. The skin features a purple bodysuit that’s an almost exact replica of the one she wore on the Chromatica Ball tour.

The real draw, however, is not in the battle pass, but in the Fortnite Shop: the Chromatica Armor Outfit. Designed by Cecilio Castrillo, who made several pieces worn by Gaga during the Chromatica era (including the shoes she wears on the album cover), it’s a black bodysuit with a huge, spiked shoulder pad and wild metal glove. The Shop will also have a themed emote, bass guitar, microphone, and the “Stupid Love” Jam Track. I’ll be buying this.

Paws up, Little Monsters! We’re thriving!
