State of Play: Watch on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok

State of Play | January 31, 2024

The State of Play stream kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Pacific, 5:00 pm Eastern, and 23:00 central European time. You can watch it on PlayStation’s official YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok channels.

Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, PS VR2 and more

The official announcement blog for the State of Play stream shouted out two games, Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, in addition to “other titles.” While we don’t know for certain what those “other titles” will be, Rise of the Ronin is expected to bring some cinematic samurai action from Team Ninja while Stellar Blade (formerly known as Project Eve) also features some sword-swinging action, but far more fantastical and futuristic.

Team Ninja / PlayStation

Rise of the Ronin is set during the late-Edo era in Japan amidst some drastic socio-political changes in the country. In addition to samurai swordplay, the game promises firearms, traversal on horseback, and a pretty sweet-looking glider suit that you can combine with a grappling hook for some exciting-looking aerial maneuvers.

Shift Up / PlayStation

Stellar Blade, meanwhile, looks to feature fast-paced melee combat action in a post-apocalyptic world. Recent trailers have also shown off platforming elements in addition to monstrous foes. It’s giving fem Devil May Cry energy if we’re being honest.
